the story, so far

after finishing a politics degree

joel moved from nottingham to london

to work inside the Houses Of Parliament for an MP

however, one week into being in the big city

and joel met a rapper called nick

and his producers, the confect

and so the story began.

 

commuting every saturday morning

from fulham to islington

joel began to work alongside the confect

developing the art of songwriting

and stirring up a deep-seated dream, one song at a time

 

premiering on radio 1 extra

the confect & joel released a Kendrick Lamar cover

it went viral

 

joel began to refine his own collection of songs

influenced by his love for hip hop

and bluesy folk

wanting to capture what it felt like to fall in love in london

 

after releasing the self-penned further than feelings

joel delivered his debut ep to radio 1 bosses and djs

in parliament stamped envelopes

the stunt got the attention of the big boys in the bbc

and joel was given a slot at reading & leeds festival

and also a place on bbc's radio 1 playlist

 

after three UK wide support tours

joel & the confect released fan-favourite 'every vessel every vein'

the duo quit their jobs

and so the story continues...
